Leading Cyber Security in Government and Industry

  • Mykonos
  • 8 October 2018 - 12 October 2018

Our ‘Leading Cyber Security in Government and Industry’ program has been designed explicitly to focus on the knowledge and skills required by government and industry to lead cyber security management capacity in the workforce.

Our ‘Leading in Cyber Security in Government and Industry’ program is structured over 5 days so that participants are exposed to a common core of key management issues within the fields of Strategy, Finance and Accountancy, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Responsible Management and the Economic Environment of Business.  Each of these areas will be explored from the specific perspective of cyber security. This is because cyber security impacts upon each of the functional areas of all organisations in specific ways.

The management of cyber security thus requires both traditional and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. Due to the interconnected nature of contemporary societies, and the extensive use of Information Technology, cyber security management requires joined up thinking from strategy through to operations and contingency planning. Where specialist scientific education provides the knowledge and skills needed for front line engagement with cyber security, this program in ‘Leading Cyber Security in Government and Industry’ enables participants to lead cyber security initiatives and to manage technical experts. This means that participants develop the knowledge and expertise to make strategic decisions that involve cyber security risk management from within any traditional functional area.

In order to assist participant development, this 5-day intensive program has a modular design, which can be supplemented by additional learning post-course should participants need to develop their knowledge further.  This 5-day program in fact, provides the foundations of a traditional MBA in Cyber Security, whilst the optional supplementary modules enable students to tailor their own ongoing pathway through cyber security awareness and development. Participants will therefore be able to complement and build on their existing knowledge, thus, providing an excellent learning experience and real added value.

The 5-day program is structured as follows:

Day 1: Cyber Security Strategy
Day 2: Managing the Organisational Cyber Posture and the Financial Aspects of Cyber Security
Day 3: Cyber Behaviour and Managing Insider Threat
Day 4: Digital Security Risk and Audit Management
Day 5: International Cyber and Digital Law

Mykonos lies opposite the sacred island of Delos, one of the sunniest places in the world.  It is believed that due to its immensity of sunshine, it is a place of high concentration of cosmic energy.  According to mythology, god Apollo was born on Delos and Mykonos took its name from the grandson of Apollo, “Mykonos”.
