There is no better locaton than Mykonos for a program on Diversity & Inclusion. Mykonos has long been the symbol of diversity and inclusion, of tolerance and acceptance, free-thinking and open-mindedness.
Mykonos is, for the Mykoniots d’élection, an ‘affective’ community, capable of keeping them together as a group while tolerating their idiosyncratic selves (Pola Bousiou 2008)
Mykonos lies opposite the sacred island of Delos, one of the sunniest places in the world. It is believed that due to its immensity of sunshine, it is a place of high concentration of cosmic energy. According to mythology, god Apollo was born on Delos and Mykonos took its name from the grandson of Apollo, “Mykonos”.
Ayios Yiannis, where our program will take place on Mykonos, is famous as it was the location for the movie “Shirley Valentine”.
